The Project for implementation an Environmental Management System (SGA) was officially started in April 2000, for all corporation units.
The deployment of an effective Environmental Management System makes feasible the elaboration and implementation of the Company’s Environmental Policy connected to its Mission, Objectives and Goals. The study on environmental features and their legal requirements, the establishment of an environmental monitoring system and the organizational commitment to sound environmental performance has been the base for the success of the certifications we have achieved. The environmental performance of each unit and its responsibility to the public is assessed by environmental indicators and made available to any interested parties.
The environmental program based on the NBR ISO 14001/1996 Standard began to be implemented in Brazil in 1996, by a few pioneer companies. Today, there are more than 600 certified companies and number of certified companies ranks Brazil in the 4th position worldwide. MAHLE Brasil has 5 certified units and is on the way to the certification of the four remaining units by the end of 2003.
The commitment of MAHLE Brasil to Environment is a distinction in the development of new products and technologies, process efficiency, quality of products and services, and environment preservation.
